The power outage occurred on 12 May. Police say investigations are ongoing.

When contacted, MBS would only confirm that it had made a police report. It said it would be "inappropriate to comment further as police investigations are ongoing".

Some reports said the blackout lasted for about an hour.

There was a similar incident on 4 May, when the lights went out during a speech by the Chief Justice of New South Wales at the Inter-Pacific Bar Association's (IPBA) conference.

Blackout at Marina casino: Man arrested for 'sabotage'

A MAN has been arrested in connection with a power blackout at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino last Wednesday.

He is believed to be a disgruntled engineer employed by a subcontractor of the integrated resort (IR), which was plagued by a series of blackouts over the course of a week following its opening on April 27.

A police spokesman said yesterday that a 35-year-old man had been arrested for his involvement in the hour-long blackout on May 12, which began 20 minutes after midnight and affected the gaming floor.

they know wanna cheat in casino is very difficult, will kena court case, fined big time & jailed, so they hire a kid to pull the plug, so all the punters at the tables can snatch the chips when the lights go out. that way, everybody huat ah!

MBS can't find a real reason for the Blackouts happened during the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, held on 2 to 5 May 2010, so blame everything on sabotage. How convenient. 我不知道，不关我的事。

I don't know who is more fucked up, the maintenance company who won the tender for setting up the system or MBS for having a sloppy security system. In either case, sounds like a scene from Ocean 11 / 12 / 13...LOL
