Man runs amok and injures six persons
5th August, 2010 SANDAKAN: A man with a history of mental illness ran amok and stabbed six persons with a knife. The victims included a six-year-old boy who has now been placed under intensive care for his injury. The condition of the five others – four males and a woman – was reported to be stable.
They were all rushed to the hospital by villagers following the shocking attack in an illegal settlement in Batu Sapi on Tuesday at between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. The attacker was later overpowered by a group of villagers and handed over to the cops.
It was not immediately known if the suspect was provoked before he went berserk and started stabbing the victims in Kampung Bakau. Sandakan police chief ACP Rosli Mohd Isa confirmed the case when contacted yesterday.
