Tianmen Mountain Road in China​

The Tianmen Mountain Road winds its way through the slopes of Tianmenshan Mountain in China. It’s just over 9 kilometres long, but its 99 bends are endless and it rises to 1,279 metres above the valley. It is known as the Avenue that links to the sky, because it ends at the Tianmen Cave (Gateway to Heaven), a natural rock arch cut into the mountain.

Trollstigen in Norway​

Known as the Troll Staircase, this winding, curving road seems to exist only to make fun of drivers. In reality, however, it is an essential connection between Andalsnes and Valladal, making it one of the most visited areas in the country. The road was built in 1936, took eight years to complete and, among other landscapes, allows you to see the Stigfossen waterfall that pours over green mountains and gravel.

US Route 163 in Utah-Arizona, United States​

This is the road that everyone has seen a million times in movies. Only 5 miles long, it is one of the most emblematic roads in the United States. Route 163 crosses the red rock desert, the spires of the Navajo country of Utah and Arizona, and the San Juan River, before it ends in the city of Bluff.
