dont waste your time on youtube. those communist internet brigade will defend CCP like u killed their father. i cross fire many times with them on youtube. anyway im well versed with both side of the story. what i can see is both also made a lot of mistakes. but CCP luckily got the support of the masses. 农村包围城市!thats how they win the war! but CCP cant run the country, because they lack of those real elites, talents and the rich that went to taiwan with 蒋介石. thats what caused China dilemma today. sigh!

Blame the Japs. It was becos of the Jap invasion into China that spared the commis from annihilation by the KMT.

The commis were nearly wipe out by the KMT till the Japs invaded China which force KMT to work with the commis to fight the Japs which in turn allow the commis to rebuild their numbers.

Look at Uncle Yap the commie sympathizer. That stupid fool rewrites SG politics on a daily basis, and the latest version now is how ex-communist "New SG citizens" from China are going to help launch Democracy is SG.

I already knew the communists were bad eggs. Once people like Mao took over, traditional Chinese values were thrown out of the window and hence, now we have these immorals PRCs with no sense of pride and will do anything for $$$.

As usual, some people will start saying I am an American dog while all the time, I know that the Yanks are crooked and twisted too.

Well in the end, PRC might or might not end up like Singapore:

Intellectuals and the rich will move their kids to US/AUS/UK.

Erosion of Chinese culture due to more Chinese picking up English and the adoption of western culture.

Many will move to US/UK/AUS to enjoy a better quality life.

Local women will ditch their local men and throw themselves to ang moh.

Rich gets richer, poor gets much poorer.

Lack of innovators.

Ministers start paying themselves very high salary while exploiting the poor.

They are all crooks. In politics, they use power to suppress, in business, it is money.

I see the heart of communism as still a centralised form of government, suitable if you need to engage masses of manpower towards a singular, nation-wide goal, which is why when the commies goal is to behave like capitalists, all the Chinamen would do anything for a fast buck.

On the other hand, democracy, while noble in its origins, places too much emphasis on "freedom". This eventually means that as power is transferred to the public, it inadvertently ends up in the hands of those who hold the most of the general indicator of power, i.e. - money.

But only in the twisted low IQ mind of UY thinks that communists can help SG more democratic.

Agree, individuals will always seek freedom for themselves, which is why they will migrate to places where they can practice what they yearn for the most.

But the catch is that these people are already tarnished with a commie mindset, they will only resort to any means to their own ends.

Quite literally, you can take the Chinaman out of communism, but you can't take the commie out of a Chinaman.

PAP's brand of democracy is yes, yes, you're allowed to vote. But they must win, for if they lose, they'll call it a freak result and call in the army. To make things worse, there're saboteurs and/or morons like CSJ, GMS and Uncle Yap trying to confuse people further from any hope on democracy and alienate people further from opposite. Well yes, alienate, no pun intended. People like them are PAP's best campaigners, no pun intended too.

I think PAP knows full well that if they were to send an army to guard the Istana against its own citizens, the chain of command will break down and the soldiers will, at very least, just watch the proceedings go by. Why? Simply because they are unlike the Burmese Army where you either get fed well by the government or you struggle like the public masses.

I'd say nothing will happen if the army is called in, unless they have a full battalion of Gurkha's with tanks somewhere we don't know about.

When I was a young student in a Chinese primary school in the 1950+,Chairman Mao and his team of red marshals were my heros,I truly worshipp them as saviors for mankind, which to me as a kid meant basically the Chinese race.

When Mao launched the cultural revolaution in 1966,I was looking for a new era for the whole world as he promised.

Chairman Deng,a victim of cultural revolution who LKY respected immensely or so he claimed, decided to maintain Mao's status as a national hero, was probably a right decision in view of the upheavy China as a nation has gone thro',but the mistake in my view was not to come clean on the variious mistakes of cultural revolution,it was covered up till today.

Commis today are the self proclaimed market socialists,I am watching their development,to the extent that CCP is still carrying out various reform in the villages & townships,it has been positive.I believe their biggest mistake was to take LKY advice as gospel truth, the invitation of MNCs to develop China, and export as the only engine of growth, this policy cereated the biggest "imbalance" in world economy today.

Till todaay,I am able to recite "SNOW",written in Feb 1936 by Mao

Snow
(February 1936)

North country scene:
A hundred leagues locked in ice,
A thousand leagues of whirling snow.
Both side of the Great Wall
One single white immensity.
The Yellow River's swift current
Is stilled from end to end.
The mountains dance silver snakes
And the highland charge like wax-hued elephants.
Vying with heaven in stature.
On a fine day, the land,
Clad in white, adorned in red,
Crows more enchanting.

This land so rich in beauty
Has made countless heroes bow in homage.
But alas! Qin Shihuang and Han Wudi
Were lacking in literary grace,
And Tang Taizong and Song Taizu
Had little poetry in their souls;
That proud son of Heaven,
Genghis Khan,
Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched.
All are past and gone!
For truly great men
Look to this age alone.

(names mentioned in this poem:
Qin Shihuang : the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty[211 BC-206 BC], also the first in Chinese history.
Han Wudi: a great emperor in the Han Dynasty[206 BC-220 BC].
Tang Taizong : a great emperor in the Tang Dynasty[AD 618- 907], and maybe the greatest of all Chinese emperors.
Song Taizu: the first emperor of the Song Dynasty[960-1279])

History has never been kind to those who lost. What he failed to do in the mainland he succeed on Taiwan. But instead of acknowledging his success they focus only on his heavy handed repression.

I dare say communism is the root of all evil and the destroyer of culture. Now we have a bunch of Chinese who are not sure of their roots and in danger of turning pinkerton due to weak understanding of their culture.

Chiang biggest mistake was to allow his brother in law the Song family to treat China Treasury as thier personal bank!

LKY learn many things fr the Chiangs,he does know it every well, but the trouble with LKY is that he invented "LEEgalised"

How this will play out, only history will tell.

Taiwan was a dirt poor province when the KMT arrived in 1949. Chiang made the mistake of not developing the island with the talent and resources at his disposal. Instead he focused on buiding up his military capabities in his dream of retaking the mainland by force. If not for his misplaced goal, Taipei would have become the financial capital of Asia (and not HK) and Taiwan a economic powerhouse like S Korea, a fashion hub or even film capital of the east...

CCP won the masses support was untrue or over exaggerated. The peasants didn't overwhelmingly join CCP armies thus increasing their strength.

Firstly, CCP self claimed 1.5 million troops at the end of WW2 was a lie. They had only 300K soldiers. By early 1947, CCP had almost 2 million troops. That was a fact. Before that CCP spread propaganda attacks against KMT throughout the country telling Chinese that forever increasing hundreds thousands of peasants took up arms joining the CCP revolution to topple the incompetent central govt of China.

How did CCP 2 million troops in 1947 came about from the initial 300K in 1945?
4 sources
1) Wang Jingwei 1 million puppet army was disbanded by KMT - the majority went over en bloc to CCP.
2) KMT demilitarized their armies by nearly 40% ( 100 divisions ) - many divisions went over en bloc to CCP
3) CCP enforced conscription in their occupied areas.
4) There were 100K-150K+ North Koreans troops. The NK troops swelled to 250K during the peak of the Chinese Civil war in 1948.

The Chinese armies were mostly professional soldiers who followed their officers everywhere. When the CO of a regiment or division defected to CCP, it's usually with the whole unit intact.

Where did CCP got their weapons to fight - from the Russians. The Russians gave CCP hundred thousands of American guns and more ( American lend lease military supplies to Russia in Europe WW2 ) + Kwantung army military supplies in Manchuria + CCP got free pickup of weapons and ammunition from North Korea Arsenal throughout the Civil War. CCP spawn lies saying demoralized Chinese Nationalist armies surrendered their American weapons to them, boasting their armies morale tremendously. This also hoodwinked the peasants who believed the end was near for KMT.

Without Russian guidance and massive military aid + the betrayal of Nationalist China by USA. The CCP revolution in 1949 would never have succeeded. The demise of ROC was the biggest geopolitical conspiracy in the 20th century, a shameful desperate attempt by "White Men" to perserve their domination of the world.
