One of the things that seems odd is the use of the word "grave". For a lawyer to use that word for an extramarital affair alludes to something more serious. There have been cabinet members and PAP MPs that have done the exact same thing including a cabinet minister and a subordinate and Michael would have been aware of it.
So why "grave". Lapse of judgement, faltered, serious, silly, poor judgement, moment of madness etc would have been better unless grave indeed means exactly that
